What's included in the BricsCAD free trial?

The trial gives you full access to BricsCAD Ultimate for 30 days, which means every feature of the lower editions - Lite, Pro, BIM and Mechanical - is unlocked too. No credit card required. After thirty days, you can purchase a license to keep using the full product (no reinstall needed; you simply enter your key in the License Manager).

Can I switch between different BricsCAD license levels during the trial?

Yes. During the trial you can access any BricsCAD level, from Lite right up to Ultimate. Once BricsCAD is installed you set the level from inside the app with the SETLICENSELEVEL command, and a restart is required.

How do I download and install BricsCAD?

Download the installer from the website and run it. The single installer contains all editions (Lite, Pro, Mechanical, BIM and Ultimate), and it installs and runs independently of any previous BricsCAD version. It's available for Windows, macOS and Linux, and supports both interactive and silent installation. After installing, you set your edition/license.

BricsCAD runs on Windows 10 and 11, macOS 12 (Monterey) or later, and recent Linux distributions (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and newer). Bricsys recommends an Intel Core i7/i9 or AMD Ryzen 7/9 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a dedicated graphics card for the best experience. What should I do if I encounter issues during installation?

Head to the [Help Center](https://help.bricsys.com) and [Knowledge Base](https://help.bricsys.com/en-us/document/knowledge-base "Knowledge base - BricsCAD Help Center"), the [Forum](https://forum.bricsys.com), or contact support or your reseller. To note, there’s no need to uninstall and reinstall to change or activate a license; you just enter your key in the License Manager.

Can I install BricsCAD on multiple devices?

Accepted Answer

A single-user license is assigned to one user rather than a specific machine. It may be installed on more than one of the user's own devices, such as an office workstation and a laptop, but it cannot be used on more than one device at the same time. For multiple concurrent users, a network or volume license is required. Licensing terms were revised in March 2025; please consult the current license agreement or contact support to confirm the terms applicable to your purchase.

Yes, natively. BricsCAD is DWG-based, so you can open, edit and save .dwg files without conversion, allowing seamless collaboration with users of other DWG-based platforms.

Yes. BricsCAD combines 2D drafting and 3D modeling in a single application. Capabilities depend on the edition: BricsCAD Lite covers 2D drafting, while 3D modeling, rendering and drawing-view creation require BricsCAD Pro or higher.
